Welcome
Thank you for volunteering your time and effort to make our 2005 soccer season a success! Here is a list of your responsibilities and some suggestions to guide you on your way. It is also recommended that you read a copy of the BRYSA Policies and Procedures, as this will prepare you for many questions you might encounter as Team Manager.
Communications
Your primary duty involves providing the line of communication between the coach and the association to your team members. This includes: notifying team members of practice schedules, game cancellations and rescheduling, team photos, and other information as needed. In the past, some team managers have solicited the aid of another parent and divided the telephone responsibilities in half.
Uniforms/Equipment
The distribution of team uniforms is the responsibility of the Team Manager. As you give each child a uniform, enter the jersey number onto your copy of the roster sheet next to each child’s name. You will not collect the jerseys at the end of the fall season. If the child is playing again in the spring and lose their jersey, it will be a cost of $12.00 to replace it. At the end of the spring season, every player will keep his or her jersey. The equipment must be turned back in on the designated turn in date.
Game Day
Prior to game day, assign individual parents to provide drinks and half-time refreshments recommended by the coach. Water, cups and a trash bag should also be available. Please see that the field and sidelines are cleared of trash after each game.
Game Scores
The Team Manager of the winning team is responsible for reporting the game score to their division coordinator no later than Sunday morning. This applies only to the Bantam, Junior, Intermediate and Senior Division. The Division Coordinators are to call in scores by Sunday evening at 6:00 p.m. These scores are used for team standings.
Length of Service
Please help maintain continuity by remaining Team Manager for both the fall and spring seasons.
End of Spring Season
If there is interest, plan a social activity at the end of the Spring Season. Picnics, swimming and pizza parties have been enjoyed in the past. Also, collect donations from the parents for a gift for the coach and assistant coach.
If you have any questions, please call Bill Armstrong 667-0410, or your Division Coordinator. And once again, THANKS!
